Violinist, Orchestra Musician & Teacher

Tina Qu, violinist is a graduate from both Curtis and Juilliard. She is an active soloist, teacher, orchestra and chamber music musician. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras, including Los Angeles Philharmonic, National Orchestra of China, Los Angeles Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Liao Ning State Opera Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Claremont Symphony, American Youth Symphony and West Chester Symphony.

She has also performed in many international music festivals including Verbier in Switzerland, Aspen Festival, Pacific Music Festival in Japan and the New York String Seminar.

Her performance journey has taken her to collaborate with the conductors, including Simon Rattle, Andre Previn, James Levin, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Herbert Blomstedt, Christoph Eischenbach, David Zinman, Michael Tilson Thomas, Gustavo Dudamel, and James Conlon. She has collaborated with artists including Placido Domingo, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, Gil Shaham, Hilary Hahn, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Peter Serkin, Leon Fleisher, Andre Watts, and Evgeny Kissin.

Tina is on faculty at Colburn Community School and a private instructor. She was born and raised in China and came to US on full scholarship to study with Prof. Alice Schoenfeld at USC. She was one of the last pupils of Dorothy DeLay at Juilliard. Her teachers also included Felix Galimir, Jaime Laredo, Ida Kavafian and Pamela Frank and Zhen Shan Wang.

Over the years, she has been interviewed with numerous of Press and Medias, including Panda Channel TV, KCET in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Channel 18, American Voice Radio, Chinese World Journey, China Star, Beverly Hills News, and Channel Jade in Hong Kong.
